The Evolution rack toms feature the Halo mounting system, which allows each shell to resonate freely for the purest tones. The custom shell construction of each drum is based on the size, with thicker plies for larger drums. This attention to detail ensures that each drum has its own unique sound. The maple and walnut shell blend creates a dynamic and versatile tone, with maple providing warmth and walnut adding fast attack and dark tones. The SONIClear bearing edge technology improves shell vibration and allows for greater resonance and easier tuning.
The floor toms are enhanced by the TH800 SONIClear tom holders and Sonic Pedestal feet, which prevent contact between the legs and the playing surface, maximizing resonance. The stunning SAS gloss lacquer finish is part of Mapex’s Sonic Attenuation System, designed to enhance the overall pitch of the drums. The finish is applied directly to the shell, preserving its natural tonal range.
The configuration of the drum kit includes a 22″ x 18″ bass drum, 10″ x 8″ rack tom, 12″ x 9″ rack tom, 14″ x 14″ floor tom, and 16″ x 16″ floor tom. The shell construction features 9-ply maple/walnut shells, sonic saver hoops, and SONIClear bearing edges. The mounting system is the Halo system, and the drum kit features air flow venting and static 90° floor tom feet. The hardware has a chrome finish, and the drum kit is completed with a beautiful Azure Burst gloss lacquer finish.
