The latest YFH8315 flugel horns have hollow barrel-shaped phosphor bronze leadpipe screws with altered screw threads for superior handling. Custom model The small-bored construction offers the same mellow characteristic flugelhorn sound with a responsive dynamic range and accessible upper register – and the beautiful clear lacquer finish gives the instrument a full rich timbre. Malone leadpipe Bob Malone – originally a horn player himself – opened a custom brass shop in Los Angeles in 1983.
