On top of that, it is equipped with specially made Remo drumheads that ensure top sound quality and endurance. This drum kit was conceived with revolution in mind and is ready for you to join forces with it. Please note that cymbals are not included.
Designed during the eccentric 1960s, the VOX Telstar became known for its egg-shaped bass drum. Divided by a panel on the inside, separate kick pedals were positioned at either end of the bottom rim to produce different bass drum tones. The Telstar 2020 takes it a step further with its stunning chrome-meets-crocodile finish. Each drum is coated with a scaly metallic effect that combines the vintage aesthetic with a modern touch.
The Telstar 2020 is constructed with birch wood, known for its density and durability. Birch is a bright-sounding wood that offers a good balance of tone and crispness. The bass drum is unique, featuring an internal chamber that determines its tone based on the placement of the kick pedal. The larger right side of the drum produces fuller, warmer sounds, while the smaller left side creates tighter, crisper sounds. The chamber ensures that each side resonates separately, allowing you to fully utilize the Telstar 2020’s tonal range by using two kick pedals simultaneously.
Following the classic configuration, the Telstar 2020 includes one rack tom and one floor tom, endorsed by the legendary jazz drummer and bandleader, Buddy Rich. The Telstar 2020 Configuration consists of an 18″ + 12″ x 13″ bass drum, 14″ x 5″ snare drum, 13″ x 7.5″ rack tom, and 16″ x 15.5″ floor tom. The hardware included with this drum kit are a tom holder, cymbal boom arm, snare stand with vintage flat base, hi-hat stand with vintage flat base, and kick pedal with vintage flat base.
