The Vandoren V16 Cuir Baritone Sax Ligature is a genuine leather ligature to hold your reed to your instruments mouthpiece. As a leather ligature the sound produced is more rounded and warm than the brighter tone of metal ligatures. The unique and innovative double-track screw mechanism provides a quick and symmetrical tightening for your reed. The handcrafted finish of the ligature feels very high quality and the premium feel is finished off with the plastic cap. Included with your ligature are three pressure plates to enable you to modify your sound to your own preference. Please note: This ligature is designed for use with Vandorens V16 ebonite mouthpieces. If you use another mouthpiece you can find the standard Cuir ligature here.
Three pressure plates With an easy-fit Velcro attachment changing the pressure plates couldnt be easier. With three different types of material available to choose from you can pick the best one to suit your playing situation. Plate 1 – Metal: Provides a more colourful and compact sound. Combine with the flexible leather ligature to get the sonic benefits of both metal and leather. Plate 2 – Smooth leather: Made from the same leather as the ligature itself you will find that this increases the focus of your sound and makes it slightly more compact and dark. Plate 3 – Supple: A more supple leather than the leather of the ligature and Plate 2. This provides a rounder and more ample sound. These plates are also available separately as a pack of three should you need to replace them. Vandoren Established in 1905 by Eugène Van Doren Vandoren is still family run to this day.
