The Tascam CA-XLR2d-AN XLR Microphone Adapter Analogue Interface Kit is a two-channel microphone preamp designed for use with a wide range of cameras including DSLRs.
Designed to deliver professional-grade results, the Tascam XLR Microphone Adapter attaches directly to your camera, providing high-definition audio quality using cutting-edge A/D converters.
The intuitive design and versatile connectivity mean you can use a wide variety of microphones with the adapter, including shotgun mics, stereo condenser configurations, and everything in between!
Utilizing years of expertise in audio technology, Tascam has created one of the most flexible microphone/camera interfaces to date. It will automatically sync your audio and visual signals (in digital or analog) which aids in the editing process.
No matter the shot, the Tascam XLR Microphone Adapter will ensure you’ve got the sound to match it. Unlike conventional mic adapters, the CA-XLR2d doesn’t use a second conversion step, which optimizes the signal integrity of your audio; resulting in the best possible sound quality.
With a compact yet robust design and an easy-to-use interface, the CA-XLR2d is perfect for videographers on the move. The adapter is powered via your camera, meaning no need for additional batteries or power supplies. It also features a 3.5-mm stereo mini-jack input, so you can plug in an additional lavalier mic – perfect for presenting to the camera.
The most flexible compact microphone/camera adapter
Compact, portable, and easy to get to grips with, the Tascam CA-XLR2d is a must-have for any professional videographer or audio engineer. Compatible with virtually any camera, the XLR microphone adapter allows you to capture pristine audio recordings with stunning sound quality.
The two-channel design means you can also use stereo microphones, allowing you to adapt to any environment. It also provides 48V Phantom Power, so it is compatible with a myriad of microphone types. You can switch between two audio output modes to suit your needs. ‘Camera’ mode will transmit audio to the microphone input of the camera. ‘Headphone’ mode will allow you to directly monitor your audio with headphones. The latter can be great for setting levels and configuring equipment whilst on set.
The adapter itself is compact and robust, attaching directly to the shoe mount of your camera for an ergonomic fit.
High-definition audio with pristine A/D converters
Audio/visual work is delicate, and without both parts being up to scratch, you can be left with an underwhelming end product. The Tascam CA-XLR2d eliminates this worry by automatically syncing the audio directly to your visual feed on your camera. This reduces post-production time immensely, providing an industry-standard feature at a price that won’t break the bank.
Utilizing years of audio expertise, Tascam has created high-end A/D converters to ensure you capture every nuance of the action. The cutting-edge converters deliver the digital audio directly without deterioration to the camera, eliminating any secondary conversion step for low-noise and distortion-free sound. The high-performance HDDA mic preamps deliver stunning sound quality with an ultra-wide dynamic range. It also features switchable mic/line level, as well as an additional 3.5mm stereo mini-jack input for use with a lav mic or another microphone that requires power (plug-in only).
Onboard low-cut filter, limiter, and attenuation
As well as providing high-definition audio, the Tascam XLR Microphone Adapter also features onboard tools to help adapt to different settings and environments. You can use the switchable low-cut filter to eliminate any unwanted low-end sound if you’re recording on location or in noisy environments. There is also a switchable limiter, which is perfect for the more demanding shots where the microphone could pick up sudden loud noises.
Built for the road
Not only is it compact and perfect for videographers on the move, but the adapter also has a whole host of useful features you didn’t know you needed… until now! It has all the standard bells and whistles, such as auto-level functionality and an overload indicator for each input, but it also has a transparent protective cover that prevents unintentional changes to your settings. You can also keep things tidy with the onboard cable holder, helping to keep you organized.
