Style X-Limit comes with four carefully designed limiter characteristics for easy and distinctive changes in sound and tone. The four styles are transparent glue punch and auto. Transparent is a non-invasive style and avoids pumping or colouration to stay true to the original sound. Glue is tailored to bus and group processing and adds “glue” that helps the individual elements in groups sound as if they exist within the same sonic context. Punch introduces pumping and flavour while holding back on distortion. Auto automatically adjusts the attack of the limiter based on the transient content of the signal and adapts to your signal in real time. Lookahead Switching on the Lookahead option introduces an internal latency that allows the limiter to look ahead at the incoming signal and catch peaks. The advanced fade-in Lookahead algorithm catches transients more smoothly. Moreover each preset characteristic influences lookahead in a unique way that introduces minimal latency so you can find the sound that works for you with ease. True Peak Engage SSLs true peak algorithm to ensure that inter-sample peaks are effectively limited thanks to intelligent oversampling. When True Peak is enabled the current and maximum true peak values are metered in the top section of the GUI. This true peak meter shows you inter-sample peak values and the intelligent algorithms within X-Limiter pick them out and make sure they dont clip.
