The Sitar is one of the most common instruments in Indian Classical music ensemble. Featuring 7 primary plus 11 sympathetic strings this instrument creates a rich and authentic tone. Authentic Resonant Sitar The Sitar by Gear4music has seven main steel strings that run over the raised frets. The remaining 11 strings are sympathetic strings (or taraf tar) which when tuned resonate in correspondence to the main strings. This is enhanced by the hand carved size 12 wooden kadu ka tumba (body). The inside is moulded to give ultimate protection and layered in a red plush fabric. The case also includes to lockable shutters which can keep the instrument very safe. The soft gig bag is great for portability and features two carry handles.
