The sE Electronics Rupert Neve RN17 redefines the capabilities of the modern SDC making the previously thought impossible possible. Where other SDCs falter the RN17 excels. Through the utilisation of a larger than life transformer and small diaphragm the RN17 is able to pick up the highest frequency content whilst managing to achieve remarkable clarity across the whole range of frequencies.
Building upon the shortcomings of other SDCs comes the RN17 a pioneering achievement that outlines the phenomenal genius of Mr. Rupert Neve. The RN17 is the worlds first pencil microphone with a hand wound ultra high performance transformer. With its 15mm diaphragm the transient response of the RN17 is unparalleled and uncontested in any arena. With a small capsule comes the ability to pick up the most delicate of high frequency content but this often paired with a lack of low frequency response. This has been countered through the intuitive use of a huge transformer which helps balance out all the frequencies helping to achieve a sense of major headroom.
