The Roland V-4EX is designed to be a live production switcher and web streaming device. It features audio embedding and a built-in audio mixer with up to 4 frames delay to ensure lipsync with your video source. The user interface includes dial controls for effects on each bus and master output. The innovative design combines a video switcher, audio embedding, preview monitor, and streaming-ready USB output in one unit. Inputs one to three support composite (BNC) or HDMI, while input four accepts HDMI RGB/Component or S-video. The output features scaled-up HDMI RGB/component or SD composite, with an additional HDMI output for external preview monitor.
The Roland V-4EX is ideal for web streaming and recording applications. It has a stereo RCA audio input, allowing you to embed audio into the HDMI outputs and USB stream. This is particularly useful for web streaming and recording purposes. As a USB Video/Audio class device, web streaming is simple by connecting it to a computer running a live streaming service. You can also record the output using Roland’s free Video Capture for Windows software or Quicktime on a Mac.
The Roland V-4EX has several features, including three input options (SD HDMI/Composite) and one input option (up to 1080p HDMI/RGB/Component/Composite). It has a PGM output (up to 1080p HDMI + RGB/Component + Composite) and a PVW output for multiviewer functionality. The internal processing is progressive at 480p/576p, and it has built-in frame synchronizers on all inputs. Scalers are present on CH 4 and the output, and it offers 259 transitions and 148 effects. The V-4EX is HDCP compliant and has audio embedding, an audio mixer, and a delay of up to 4 frames. It also has USB streaming out capability for webstreaming.
