The Roland Cloud System-100 Virtual Instrument is a modern recreation of the revered semi-modular monosynth from the 70s. Breaking new ground for monosynths, the System-100 sets a new precedent when it comes to monophonic sound design, achieving maximum functionality as well as a timeless sound.
Developed with the innovative analog circuit behavior component-level modeling, you can recreate the iconic sound of the 70s with this detailed, meticulous replication that’s indistinguishable from the original. Never before has it been this easy to experiment with semi-modular synthesizers at home to create the nuance, warmth, and expansive sound of the original in the most authentic manner possible.
Combining the original Model 101 and Model 102 expander units into one incredibly easy to use interface provides you with two VCOs and two LFOs that work together seamlessly, along with a sample and hold, ring modulation, and a noise generator to create a huge array of sonic possibilities. With the addition of its modular routing capabilities, the System-100 Virtual Instrument allows you to experiment with your sounds like never before, to help you create the fattest of basses, in-your-face sync leads, dense textures, and exotic soundscapes.

Semi-modular monosynth
Combining both the original Model 101 synthesizer and Model 102 expander modules, the System-100 Virtual Instrument gives you the full range of semi-modular sounds to explore. A true game-changer, the System-100 virtual instrument contains modular patching capabilities to drastically increase your options for sound design.
The pairing of Model 101 and Model 102 expander in the System-100 Virtual Instrument gives you two VCOs and two LFOs to work with, as well as sample and hold, ring modulation, and a noise generator that work seamlessly together without the need for physical patching to create warm and fat basses, punchy lead lines, and exotic soundscapes.
A true dream for all sound designers, the System-100 Virtual Instrument lets you alter the signal path by adjusting parameters through connecting cables between the patch points virtually, for an almost endless supply of sounds to escape into. A 14×15 Routing Matrix makes for quick and easy patching, with all the connections visually displayed in the control panel, with a toggle on/off to easily view the entire signal flow.
Faithful recreation of a classic
The Roland System-100 Virtual Instrument features the latest generation of the renowned Analog Circuit Behavior (ACB) component-level modeling technology. The sound of this legendary instrument is perfectly reproduced and brought to life, faithfully capturing the sound, feel, and detail by a part-by-part analysis of each analog circuit.
To keep up with the modern production needs, several additions have been implemented to complement the design and features of the original without compromising the sound and charm, such as modern effects like reverb, delay, and a lush phaser, and a tempo-synced arpeggiator with advanced pattern scattering. Six arpeggio types with six settings combine to create an almost limitless selection of patterns, creating an otherworldly experience perfectly suited to modern sound design.
Hardware integration
Featuring the ability to be used as a plug-in in your favorite DAW, as well as a Plug-out in select Roland hardware synthesizers, pushes the envelope for what is possible with sound design and creation. Host it in the SYSTEM-8 and get one-to-one pre-mapped controls for hands-on operation, or pair it with the SYSTEM-1m for virtual and physical routing, plus modulation capabilities. By connecting a System-1/1m to your computer, it becomes a dedicated controller to give you a hands-on interaction with your instrument, making it perfect for the live performer to save sounds and presets and carry your sounds with you wherever you go.
With the SYSTEM-1m, you can even use the physical audio and CV/Gate patch points on the hardware with any of the available PLUG-OUT synths. This means semi-modular versions of classic Roland synths are now possible. Pairing the SYSTEM-100 with the SYSTEM-1m gives you dedicated high-resolution controls and both virtual and physical routing and modulation capabilities. The results are simply mind-bending.
