PreSonus Temblor T8 Active Subwoofer
The PreSonus Temblor T8 Subwoofer offers superior control over the low-frequency aspect of your mix. It features high-quality components, a well-designed structure, and various inputs and outputs. This allows for seamless integration into your setup. The T8 provides two sets of inputs – left and right balanced 1/4 TRS and unbalanced RCA main inputs. This makes it compatible with PreSonus BT-series active speakers and home stereo speakers.

Moreover, the Temblor T8 Active Subwoofer is the perfect companion to the Eris and Sceptre active reference monitors, as well as the Ceres BT-series active speakers. It complements full-range monitors without overpowering them, extending the low-end reach of your full-range systems in a musical and natural way. It is suitable for various environments, including personal studios, gaming setups, audiophiles, and home theaters. The T8 features an 8-inch downward-firing glass-composite driver, a round rear-firing bass-reflex acoustic port, and a 200W Class AB amplifier (100W RMS).

The Temblor T8 also offers extensive user controls for optimal customization. The input gain can be adjusted from -30 dB to +6 dB continuously. Additionally, there is a continuously variable lowpass filter (50 Hz to 130 Hz) that allows for a seamless crossover transition between your studio monitors and subwoofer. This creates a more accurate listening environment. The subwoofer also includes a switchable highpass filter that removes frequencies below 80 Hz from the full-range signal, preventing destructive cancellation and reinforcement in the subwoofer’s upper range. This allows the T8 to complement not only the Sceptre CoActual, Eris, and Ceres BT active studio monitors but virtually any studio monitor.

The features of the Temblor T8 include an 8-inch downward-firing glass-composite low-frequency transducer, a rear-firing bass-reflex acoustic port, input gain control, a continuously variable lowpass filter, built-in crossover, and a switchable highpass filter. The subwoofer also comes with Studio One Prime DAW software and Studio Magic plug-in suite.

In terms of specifications, the T8 has a 200W peak amplifier power (100W RMS), a frequency response of 30 Hz to 200 Hz, and a signal-to-noise ratio of over 98dB (A weighted). The THD is 0.05, and the power consumption is 120W. The amplifier type is Class AB, and the peak SPL at 1m is 104dB. The subwoofer features an 8-inch glass-composite downward-firing woofer and a rear-firing round bass reflex acoustic port. The cabinet is constructed with vinyl-laminated MDF.

The user controls of the T8 include input gain range (-30dB to +6dB), polarity switch (0° or 180°), lowpass filter control (50 Hz to 130 Hz), and a highpass filter switch (On/Off). The inputs and outputs include 2 x balanced 1/4 TRS inputs, 2 x unbalanced RCA inputs, and 2 x balanced 1/4 TRS outputs and 2 x unbalanced RCA outputs with the option for full range with an 80 Hz highpass filter.

Lastly, the Temblor T8 provides protection against RF interference, output-current limiting, over-temperature issues, turn-on/off transients, and subsonic filter. It also includes an external mains fuse for added safety.
