More info…

The Pioneer XPRS-12 Active PA Speaker features a robust design with hardwood enclosures and top-quality drivers. It incorporates a 12-inch ferrite low-frequency driver paired with a 1.75-inch titanium diaphragm compression driver, all contained within a 15mm birch plywood cabinet. This configuration ensures the delivery of a natural, dynamic sound. Additionally, Pioneer’s patented AFAST technology is incorporated to significantly reduce standing waves, commonly responsible for muffled low to mid-range sound responses.

The speaker is powered by Powersoft’s Class D amplifier, which generates 1200 watts of continuous power output, rivaling the performance of larger stand-alone speaker amplifiers. These amplifiers are fitted with Power Factor Correction (PFC), minimizing power consumption while maintaining reliable and steady performance in diverse environments. A major advantage of the XPRS-12 is its auto-ranging power supply, allowing it to be used worldwide, even in venues with generators or temporary power sources, without compromising sound quality.

Pioneer has equipped all XPRS series speakers with extensive advanced protection features. These features safeguard the driver, amplifier, and power supply, ensuring peace of mind, consistent studio-quality sound, and extended lifespan for your sound system. The XPRS-12 offers four EQ modes, enabling customization for various genres and environments. The modes include Flat for accurate audio reproduction, Bass + for enhanced low-end suitable for dance music, Speech for clear vocal presentations, and Wedge for using the speaker as a floor monitor with balanced sound.

In terms of flexibility and usability, the XPRS-12 excels with its adaptable design. The speaker’s horn has a 90 x 60-degree dispersion, which can be rotated by 90 degrees, allowing for both vertical and horizontal mounting to suit different venues and coverage needs. The speaker’s wedged shape and pole mount socket offer additional positioning options, enabling it to be set straight or tilted by 7 degrees for directed sound projection.

The XPRS-12 is also designed for versatile connectivity, featuring two balanced XLR/TRS combo inputs and an unbalanced RCA input, allowing simultaneous connection to various sources. Individual controls for each input, as well as master controls for line one and two, are provided. For expanded audio setups, the speaker includes two balanced XLR through output connectors, facilitating easy connection to additional speakers or the XPRS-215S Active Subwoofer.

The specifications of the XPRS-12 are comprehensive. It’s a 12-inch 2-way full-range bass reflex bi-amp active speaker with a frequency response of 50Hz – 20kHz and a maximum SPL of 135dB. The speaker features a durable birch plywood enclosure with a bass reflex finish and is equipped with two handles, a 35mm pole socket with a 0°/7° multi-angle option, and 12 x M10 rigging points. The Class D amplifier delivers 2400 watts peak and 1200 watts continuous power output. Input connectors include 2 x XLR/TRS combo (balanced) and RCA (unbalanced), with an impedance of 10 kΩ. Output connectors comprise 2 x through output XLR (balanced) and 1 x mixed output XLR (balanced). The speaker is also equipped with a comprehensive protection system for the amplifier, driver, and power unit.
