Moog Grandmother Semi-Modular Analog Synthesizer with Decksaver Cover
The Moog Grandmother is a versatile semi-modular analog synthesizer designed to capture the essence of Moog’s modular roots. It features a built-in sequencer, arpeggiator, and a spring reverb tank reminiscent of vintage synths. The synthesizer has a 32-note velocity-sensitive Fatar keybed accompanied by a mod and pitch wheel, as well as vintage-style buttons for switching between octaves. The retro-design of the Moog Grandmother includes a multi-colored modular panel with vintage potentiometers. The bundle also includes a dedicated Decksaver cover for maximum protection while on the move. The cover is made of a highly-durable polycarbonate shell to protect the synth from dust, liquid, accidental impact damage, and more.

The Moog Grandmother takes Moog back to its modular roots, drawing inspiration from classic Moog synthesizers from the 70s and 80s. Its fully analog circuitry captures the warmth and grit of retro synths, delivering a wide sonic palette with unparalleled power and tonal character. The 32-note velocity-sensitive keyboard provides fluid playability, similar to a grand piano, for added expression. The unique design incorporates various modules hand-picked and incorporated for a truly one-of-a-kind synthesizer. The oscillators are taken from the Minimoog, the mixer from the CP3, and the Spring Reverb Tank is based on the Moog 905s design. At the heart of the Moog Grandmother are dual analog oscillators with selectable waveshape and hard sync options. This combination of classic modules creates a versatile sonic palette that can be used to create everything from atmospheric pads to vintage-style synth leads.

The Grandmother features a semi-modular design with patching capabilities. Although patching isn’t required, it allows for a hands-on approach to sound design and unlocks the synth’s full potential. Patching can be used for overriding internal connections, making various sections function like a standalone module. The synth is also great as an analog audio processor for external sources.

The built-in arpeggiator and sequencer are designed to be easy to use, allowing you to create rhythms and melodic patterns on the fly. The powerful sequencer features 256 notes and three sequence locations. Each step of the sequencer can be entered as a note or a rest, and individual steps can also be entered with a tie and/or accent. Sequence memory is stored even with the power off, so you can program sequences for use in later performances. The arpeggiator is great for creating melodic patterns, swooping arpeggios, rhythms, and other musical ideas. You can change the direction of the arpeggiator for added versatility.

One of the most unique features of the Moog Grandmother is the integrated spring reverb tank, which was a staple of analog synthesizers from the 80s. The hardware Spring Reverb can be used to process external sounds as well as the internal tones you create. The synth also includes a classic -24dB/octave Moog Low Pass Ladder Filter for shaping the sound, as well as a 1-pole high-pass filter for getting rid of the low-end while retaining the top-end of the frequency spectrum.

The design of the Moog Grandmother is reminiscent of vintage synthesizers, with a colorful scheme and rotary controls. It features both a classic-style analog ADSR envelope generator and an analog LFO with audio-rate capabilities for versatile control. The synth offers a wide range of connectivity options, including DIN MIDI In/Out/Thru and USB MIDI, making it compatible with various devices and software. It also has 41 patch points, allowing for extensive modulation possibilities and integration with other Moog units.

The Decksaver Moog Grandmother Cover is a custom-molded protective cover designed to fit the contours of the Moog Grandmother Semi-Modular Analog Synthesizer. It is made of a highly-durable polycarbonate shell to protect against dust, liquid, and accidental impact damage. The cover has a smoked/clear sheen finish, allowing you to see your equipment while protecting it. It is designed to shield all major controls and accommodate cables. This cover is ideal for musicians on the move, as it provides maximum protection for the synth.
