Mapex Saturn 22
The Mapex Saturn 22″ 5-piece Shell Pack is a drum set that offers an exciting range of dynamics and tones. It is named after the Roman god of wealth, reflecting the value it brings through its unrivaled drum sounds. The Saturn Series has been newly improved for 2020, combining maple and walnut in its shell blend to create devastating attack and rumbling low-end.

The drums have also incorporated features from Mapex’s outstanding Black Panther Design Lab, such as the newly-incorporated SONIClear bearing edges and a brand new air ventilation system. These additions enhance the drum set’s overall performance and make it even better than before.

The blend of maple and walnut in the drum shells creates a dynamic combination of tonal versatility, warmness from maple, and fast attack and dark tones from walnut. This makes the drums suitable for any setting. Mapex’s unique SONIClear bearing edge technology improves shell vibration and resonance, resulting in a stronger and deeper fundamental pitch.

The SONIClear tom suspension system preserves vibrations from the heads and shells, allowing them to resonate freely for optimal resonance. Mapex’s customised air flow system allocates unique air hole placement on the bass drums and toms, preventing interference with the overall shell resonance. The Sonic Pedestal feet, coupled with the TH800 SONIClear tom holders, enhance tonal resonance by preventing vibration transfer.

The drum set configuration includes a 22″ x 18″ bass drum, 10″ x 8″ and 12″ x 9″ rack toms, and 14″ x 14″ and 16″ x 16″ floor toms. The shell material is maple/walnut with 6 plies, and the drum set has triple-flanged 2.3mm power hoops, chamber specific-nodal line air vents, SAS static 90° floor tom legs, and chrome hardware. The finish is Scarlet Fade.
