The Mapex Saturn 22″ 5pc Shell Pack is a stunning professional-quality shell pack that offers unrivaled drum sounds. It features a shell blend of maple and walnut, which gives it a devastating attack and rumbling low-end. The pack incorporates features from Mapex’s Black Panther Design Lab, such as the newly incorporated SONIClear bearing edges and the brand new air ventilation system. Maple and walnut are blended together to create the Mapex Saturn Series drum shells. Maple provides tonal versatility and warmth, while walnut offers fast attack and dark tones. This fusion makes these drums suitable for any setting.
The SONIClear bearing edges on the shells improve contact between the drum head and shell, resulting in better shell vibration and resonance. This technology allows for easier tuning and provides a stronger and deeper fundamental pitch.
The SONIClear tom suspension system preserves the vibrations from the heads and shells, allowing them to resonate freely. This ensures that you experience the wide sonic range of the Saturn Series toms.
Mapex’s Chamber Specific-Nodal Line Air Flow Venting technology ensures that each bass drum and tom in the Saturn Series has unique air hole placement. This prevents interference with the overall resonance of the shells.
The Sonic Pedestal feet, coupled with the TH800 SONIClear tom holders, enhance the tonal resonance of the Saturn Series drums. These rubber feet prevent vibration transfer and maximize resonance.
The configuration of the shell pack includes a 22″ x 18″ bass drum, 10″ x 7″ rack tom, 12″ x 8″ rack tom, 14″ x 12″ floor tom, and 16″ x 14″ floor tom. The pack also includes two TH800 tom holders.
The shell material is a blend of maple and walnut, and the construction is 6-ply. The bearing edges are SONIClear, and the hoops are triple-flanged 2.3mm Power Hoops. The pack features Chamber Specific-Nodal Line air vents, SAS Static 90° floor tom legs, and Sonic Pedestal floor tom feet. The hardware is chrome, and the finish is Aqua Fade.
