Maple shells are known for their excellent projection in drumming. Compared to other woods, maple offers a tonal versatility and warmness that make it a popular choice for drum shells. If you prefer a loud sound, maple is one of the louder woods available, making it suitable for live performances as it cuts through most acoustic mixes.
The Mars Drum Kits come with insulated bass drum claws that have rubber gaskets to protect the hoop from damage and prevent rattling or buzzing during long playing sessions. The matching snare drum adds a cohesive look to the kit and delivers a solid snare crack. Its size allows for great tuning and musical versatility.
The SONIClear Bearing Edge, found on all Mars shells, allows the drumhead to sit flatter and make better contact with the shell. This creates a stronger and deeper fundamental pitch, effortless and consistent tuning, and a significantly expanded tuning range. The SONIClear on the rack toms enhances overall resonance by preserving vibration in the drumheads and shell while preventing energy transfer to the hardware.
