The exclusive SONIClear bearing edge design boosts the volume of the drums’ fundamental pitch, resulting in a full-bodied overall timbre. Adding the tom to your existing hardware set-up is easy with the included TH800 tom mount, which can fit any cymbal, hi-hat, or tom stand between 5/8 to 1.25 inches in diameter. The omni-ball arm adjustment allows for flexible positioning of the tom. With a Bonewood finish that matches your kit perfectly, the Mapex Mars Add-On Tom Pack is an all-in-one solution for adding variety and creativity to your tom fills.
The SONIClear Bearing Edge is a standard feature on all Mars shells, allowing the drumhead to sit flatter and make better contact with the shell. This results in a stronger and deeper fundamental pitch, consistent and effortless tuning, and an expanded tuning range. The design of the SONIClear also increases overall resonance in the rack toms by preserving vibration in the drumheads and shell while preventing energy transfer to the hardware. The Mapex Mars 10″ x 7″ Tom Shell is made from birch with a 6-ply 7.2mm thickness. The hardware finish is chrome, and the shell has a Bonewood finish.
