Develop your live setup. Evolve your sound. The Korg Volca Drum machine is a 16 step drum sequencer that will give you a huge level of performative control over your live electronic music set up. The Volca series is built on accessibility and Korg have opened up a world of possibilities for beginners and veterans alike. The Volca Drum relies on a six-part DSP synthesizer that was designed to generate a large variety of unique sounds. By giving you a fresh take on the drum machine design philosophy Korg has given you a distinct performative and productive edge.
Wide Sonic Scope Zero rules. DSP analogue modelling power. The Korg Volca Drum isnt like a PCM-sampled drum machine that focuses on a snare kick and cymbal samples that can restrict your creativity. It uses DSP powered analogue modelling to give you more variety in your sounds. Meaning you can go much deep in your drum sound creation. It is based on oscillators instead of samples. Due to this you can create a wide variety of percussion sounds. Youre not just limited to drums thanks to the DSP process you can create any sort of sound within the limitations of the six parts. The two-layer sound design offers sine sawtooth noise and you can use these three waveforms to create whatever sound you want. Using the wavefolder depth to add complex overtones and use overdrive to give your sounds more impact. The Korg Volca Drum allows you to create your own distinct sound. Rich Resonances Using the Waveguide resonator you can add rich resonances to your sounds. There are two types of resonator styles. The tube setting replicates the resonances of a cylindrical object. Anything from a snare housing to a very long pipe. The strings setting gives you a much more metallic resonance. Control the Decay Body or Tune of these settings and create otherworldly or idiosyncratic sounds with a twist of a knob Simple Sequencing Sequencing your drums has never been easier. Using the 16-step sequencer you can improvise arrange and deliver your music to the world. There are 16 buttons which control your steps and these can be selected to start and end at any point so you can create interesting polyrhythms. Excellent Design Korgs instruments are always beautifully designed with function in mind. The Volca Drums is no exception. The design features a clear and retro-inspired LCD screen which gives you the low down on all of your parameters. The display is bright and clear and is perfect for performing on a dark stage. The Volca Drum is extremely compact too and has all the features you need for playing it on the go. Headphones built-in speakers battery powered. Enjoy it anywhere!
