Garritan Jazz & Big Band 3 is an award-winning library that captures the authentic jazz sounds of big band groups. The collection includes over 60 instruments including trumpets trombones saxophones basses and rhythm section as well as a variety of idiomatic techniques that makes this sound authentically jazzy. From duos to quartets to big bands ensembles are customisable and you can build your own custom groupings. This library uses the ARIA player also used by Garritans other libraries. ARIA Player is a free software that can either run as a standalone program or as a plug-in (AU VST or RTAS) in DAWs sequencers or notation software. This makes Garritans libraries ideal for many musicians whether you are a producer in a studio or a live performing musician. ARIA player also features Endless Wave technology for efficient streaming of samples from the hard disk. This has the full range of instruments you may typically find in a traditional big band and then on top of that Garritan have included many less common instruments. Whatever style of music you are writing from standards to famous big band compositions you will be able to achieve it with this library. There are sixteen different saxophone types from sopranino to subcontrabass saxophones you will be spoilt for choice. You can be confident that whatever rare instruments you may want to use this library will have it. Brass instruments have various mutes and many release effects such as falloffs shakes and much more. This enables you to add life and a real improvised feel to your music that you would usually only get from a human big band. Build your ensemble From duos all the way to a full big band the ensemble creator allows you to select exactly what instruments you want in your piece. With this you can create your own sound and place your identity in the music wherever you use it. If you want to use a standard ensemble set up then there are pre-configured ensembles included for you to quickly use common combinations. ARIA Player integration Each Garritan library has its own unique integration with the ARIA Player. Garritan Jazz & Big Band 3 allows you to alter parameters unique to the instruments like the valve breath and air noise. Microphone placement can be altered within the stereo space to suit your production. ARIA also supports Scala files so you can alter the tuning system of the virtual instruments. You can play in historic temperaments or use non-Western tuning systems for your music. There is an inbuilt reverb in ARIA which allows you to add space to your sounds. Mixing sends for each instrument allows you to control the amount of reverb individually. The convolution reverb allows you to place your sounds in various sampled spaces such as a cathedral a film score space or a variety of concert halls.
