The design of the Nighthawk is a combination of an SG and a Les Paul. It features a solid Mahogany body with added comfort from a belly scarf. The neck is a glued-in SlimTaper™ 25 1/2″ scale Mahogany neck, providing a well-rounded warm tone with excellent sustain. The headstock is back-angled at 14 degrees, increasing pressure on the strings and helping them stay firmly in nut slots. The Nighthawk Custom is fitted with a Rosewood fingerboard, known for its resistance to wear and providing a brilliant and smooth playing surface.
With its unique pickup package including a full-size NHT humbucker (bridge), NSX single-coil (middle), and NHR mini-humbucker (neck), along with a 5-way slider and push/pull coil-tapping tone knob, you have access to 9 different tones. From a powerful and warm humbucker to a clear mini-HB to a thin, bright single-coil, this guitar covers all the classic sounds. The Alnico II pickups are double-wax-potted to avoid microphonics at high volume and can be dialed in with a single volume control. The master tone control has a push-pull switch to split the coils of the bridge pickup, allowing for quick and unique tone changes.
The Nighthawk boasts a nickel bridge with a string-thru body design, ensuring maximum resonance and sustain. The bridge also features individual saddles for independent height and intonation adjustment. The guitar’s aesthetic is enhanced by its gorgeous rich finish and pearloid crown inlays on the fingerboard. Premium 14:1 ratio Grover® machine heads provide excellent tuning accuracy and stability.
