Jumbo Maple & Spruce Construction

The EJ-200CE is known as The King of the Flat Top Guitars and provides a huge sound with plenty of sustain. The back and sides are crafted from maple, which delivers a beautifully bright sound that dominates in the mid and treble ranges. The maple is topped with solid spruce, which enhances the tone with crisp highs and tight lows, creating an overall balanced sound packed with plenty of punch.

Maple Neck Paired With Rosewood Fingerboard

The EJ-200CE features a smooth maple neck, which enables fast and comfortable playing, ideal for a variety of playing styles and techniques. The maple neck yields bright and twangy tones, as well as excellent clarity and ringing sustain. The rosewood fingerboard creates bright sounds with warm lows. The neck is paired with a soft rosewood fingerboard that offers added warmth and singing articulation to the overall sound.

Loaded With Revolutionary Shadow Electronics

Two Nano pickups and an eSonic preamp are part of the revolutionary electronics on-board the Epiphone EJ-200CE. The Shadow pickups consist of a NanoFlex located under the saddle and a NanoMag located at the fingerboard; the pickups each produce a different tone, creating a versatile performance. The NanoFlex provides a truly acoustic tone by combining both body and string tone for sonically pleasing amplification. The NanoMag is equipped with 3 high-quality Samarium-Cobalt magnets and an active circuit that works to provide an accurate tone with a wide dynamic range. There is also the eSonic Preamp System that features an on-board tuner, a Phase switch, and a Blend control that allows players to combine the outputs from the separate pickups to find their ideal sound.

Based On Iconic Gibson J200

The Gibson J-200 was introduced in 1937 when it was first called the Super Jumbo, with the intention of replacing the Advanced Jumbo. The J-200 was known as the King Of The Flat Tops, with its deep, focused, and extremely responsive acoustic tone and stunningly unique appearance. It provided artists of the 30s American music scene with a big and bold acoustic guitar that could project tones ideal for country and western styles. Many music greats have also wielded a J-200 during their career, including Bob Dylan, Elvis Presley, and Pete Townshend, who used a J-200 style to compose The Who’s Tommy.
