Crystal-Clear Sonically-transparent and functionally-versatile. The dbx 580 puts you in control of your sound. Designed to maintain the unique character of your favourite microphones the 580 enables you to capture your sound source with absolute precision. No colouration no artefacts and no hassle. Hook your mic up to your 500 Series rack or plug your instrument into the 580s front-panel 1/4 connector. Then simply dial in your settings and enjoy a faithful and pristine recording experience. Complete Tonal Control With a feature-packed design and an easy-to-use front panel getting that perfect sound is a breeze. The 580 gives you up to 60dB of gain providing more than enough gain for most equipment and recording situations. You also have a 20dB pad at your disposal enabling you to capture high-level sound sources with ease. Plus a handy Low-Cut filter lets you remove any unwanted low-frequencies from your signal. The 580 features two other unique controls – Low Detail and High Detail. The Low Detail knob allows you to vary the quantity of low-frequency detail within your signal after enabling the Detail circuit using the front-panel button. This controls a two-stage circuit that simultaneously boosts an LF bell filter with its frequency centred at 125Hz whilst attenuating a bell filter centred around 400Hz. It allows you to add weight and power to instruments and sound sources and is ideal when recording kick drums or a DId bass guitar. The High Detail knob controls a HF shelving filter with a corner frequency of 10kHz. This is ideal for adding air and clarity to vocals and instruments particularly for drums and solo instruments. Diverse 500 Series Design An intuitive workflow exceptional portability and a space-saving footprint. The 500 Series originally birthed over half a century ago has had a major impact on the audio industry as we know it. And for good reason. Built to provide a powerful outboard format without the monolithic design of some standard rack setups you can quickly and easily swap modules in and out of a 500 Series rack in minutes. This opens up a lot of doors. Experimentation with signal flow changing different modules out for different situations and the added bonus of easily being able to borrow modules from friends. All without the painstaking process of ripping out heavy rack units and crawling around trying to find where the other end of that mystery cable leads to… Its more than just a more convenient option though. 500 Series modules pack a deceiving amount of punch into their compact and portable housings. From faithful recreations of sought-after hardware to exciting innovative and unique concepts. You can build a rack that fits around you no matter where your audio journey takes you.
