DAddario Spector Violin Mute Copper

The DAddario Spector Violin Mute is a cleverly designed mute which dampens the sound of your instrument whilst making minimal contact with the instrument. Designed by Fred Spector (who played with the Chicago Symphony orchestra for 47 years) this mute has been carefully designed by those who know first-hand what makes a good mute. This mute works in a very similar manner to traditional Tourte mutes – its designed to stay on the strings behind the bridge while not in use making for easy access when mutes are required. A common misconception about certain mutes for string instruments is that they make the instrument quieter. String instruments are already very capable of playing soft and quiet. A mute on string instruments alters the timbre of your instrument – making it sound duller and less bright. Composers have utilised string mutes for many years in the classical tradition making these mutes a must-have for any budding classical musician.
