DAddario Kaplan Solo Kaplan solo double bass strings feature a core made of steel wires braided together to allow for both strength and flexibility. As these are solo strings they are all designed to be tuned a major second (two semitones) higher than their orchestral counterparts. The strings are from low to high F# B E A. There is also a solo string for players who have low C extensions on their bass (sold separately). This string is also a tone higher at D. Medium tension These strings are medium tension and strike a balance between the projection of heavier strings and the increased stamina youd find on lighter strings.
