V3.0 The updated take on a classic. The Boss OD-3 Overdrive Pedal is Boss’ latest answer to the age-old question of how to better the OD-1…well, this time they managed it! The addition of a tone control is a welcome upgrade as now you can fine-tune your sound and roll off any harsh overtones without altering gain or volume levels.
Speaking of gain, the OD-3 has slightly more available compared to its older brother. It is also Boss’ fullest sounding overdrive yet, both the OD-1 and SD-1 sound far brighter, whereas the OD-3 can often impart warmer, brassier tones without a shrill edge. Rich is probably the best word to describe the consistently high audio quality of this pedal. If you need rich, smooth overdrive in a remarkably simple format, look no further than the Boss OD-3.
