Boss JB-2 Angry Driver
The Boss JB-2 Angry Driver is a two-in-one pedal that combines two legendary circuits, the Boss BD-2 Blues Driver and the JHS Angry Charlie. These circuits work together to create a greater and more versatile overdrive tone. The Angry Driver allows you to run both pedals together for even thicker overdrive tones. The pedal is constructed with high-quality materials to ensure reliable performance. If you’re looking for a deluxe overdrive pedal with a wide array of tonal options, the Angry Driver is the perfect choice.

The JB-2 Angry Driver is Boss’ first ever collaborative pedal effort, built in conjunction with JHS. It features a modified Boss BD-2 gain circuit and the Angry Charlie circuit. The BD-2 side of the circuit offers a lower gain tone that is perfect for pushing amps to breakup, while the Angry Charlie side provides a full-blown high-gain plexi tone. The pedal offers six special modes that allow players to run the overdrives in different configurations. These modes can be run independently, in series, or in parallel, offering a wide range of tonal options. LEDs indicate which setting the pedal is in, with blue for Boss, red for JHS, and white for both circuits running together.

The JB-2 Angry Driver features dual concentric pot design, allowing for independent control over each circuit. This pedal is designed with gigging musicians in mind, with a roadworthy design that can withstand the rigors of the road. It also has a variety of input and output options, including three 1/4″ jacks for output, input, and remote control. The pedal can be powered by either a 9V alkaline battery or a 9V AC adaptor (sold separately). The current draw is 50mA, and the expected battery life is approximately 9.5 hours with an alkaline battery or 2.5 hours with a carbon-zinc battery. The dimensions of the pedal are 2.875″ (width) x 5.125″ (depth) x 2.375″ (height), and it weighs 440g.
