Behringer MonoPoly Analog 4-Voice Polyphonic Synthesizer
The Behringer MonoPoly is an Analog 4-Voice Polyphonic Synthesizer and a welcome addition to any producer’s or performer’s set-up. It comes complete with four multi-wave VCOs, two envelopes, and LFOs, as well as a classic 24dB Korg-style filter. This synthesizer not only looks great but also sounds amazing. Behringer has taken the faithful emulation of the MonoPoly and brought it into the 21st century with contemporary features like MIDI In/Out connectivity and Thru options. The inclusion of 37 premium semi-weighted keys makes playing the MonoPoly a joy. You can use these keys to create soaring lead lines and resonant subs that will add depth to any track. The built-in arpeggiator allows you to add excitement and movement to your sounds by running all four VCOs simultaneously. You even have the option to cycle through each voice per note for even more tonal variety.

The MonoPoly offers excellent tonal variation with its four VCOs. Each VCO provides four adjustable waveshapes, including triangle, reverse sawtooth, pulse-width modulation, and pulse width. For even more manipulation, you can switch the VCOs to PWM mode, allowing you to route the signal to one of two LFOs that also have adjustable waveforms and frequencies.

Both the VCF and VCA have their own individual ADSR envelopes, allowing you to shape the style and shape of your waveform. Whether you want beautifully elongated notes or short percussive stabs, the envelopes give you unlimited manipulation. If you want to add some grit to your sound, you can increase the noise knob to introduce white noise into the signal path.

The key assign mode of the MonoPoly gives you total control over how the synthesizer operates. You can choose between unison mode, where all four VCOs work when a key is pressed, polyphonic mode, or unison/share mode, where the VCOs are split depending on the number of notes being played.

The chord memory mode allows you to create intricate harmonies. You can start with Poly mode, engage the hold button, play your chord, and then select the memory chord button. This allows you to play the chord at the touch of a single key, making live performances easier than ever.

The MonoPoly features 37 semi-weighted keys with velocity functionality, allowing for precise and expressive performances. The bend wheel can be used to raise or lower the pitch, adding emotion to your playing. With over 60 knobs and buttons, the MonoPoly’s adjustable front panel is intuitive and fun to use.

The Behringer MonoPoly has received positive reviews, with Gear4music stating, “Not only is it immensely performable, but you also get a lot of options for sonic manipulation while playing it.”
