Each of the 20 synth models on the Brains can be edited using four multi-functional front panel knobs: Timbre, Harmonics, Frequency, and Morph. Simply select the active synth mode and adjust these parameters to shape the character of your sound. With a variety of synthesis engines such as Virtual Analog, Waveshaper, FM, Grains, Rain, Noise, Dust, Strings, Bass, Snare, and Hi-Hats, you can explore different sounds and genres to enhance your music.
The Brains module features an OLED display that visually represents the waveforms, allowing you to see the changes in real-time. This is particularly useful for live performances, helping you quickly identify the waveform and make adjustments on the spot. The OLED display also looks great on camera, making it ideal for live streaming performances.
In terms of connectivity, the Brains module offers a range of inputs and outputs. It has multiple 3.5mm input jacks for patching external control voltages, expanding its functionality. Additionally, it has separate audio outputs for both the main sound and a dynamic variant output. These outputs can be routed to other modules in your Eurorack setup, allowing for unique and interesting sounds.
Designed to fit seamlessly into any standard Eurorack case, the Brains module is easy to integrate into your existing setup. Simply connect the power cables and secure the module using the included screws.
The Brains module also includes various controls such as Timbre, Harmonics, Frequency, and Morph for complex synthesis. It has 10 synth engines for pitched sounds and 10 percussion and noise engines for a diverse range of sounds. The module also features various inputs and outputs, including Timber CV input, Harmonics CV input, Freq CV input, Morph CV input, Model CV input, and Voltage per Octave input. The A/D converter has a 16-bit resolution, and the sampling rate is 48 kHz.
With its versatile features, the Behringer Brains offers endless possibilities for sound design and experimentation. At a size of 16 HP, it is compact and lightweight, making it a convenient addition to any Eurorack setup.
