Behringer 2600 Analog Synthesizer
The Behringer 2600 Analog Synthesizer is inspired by a legendary vintage synthesizer, retaining the same tonal character that made the original so sought-after. The 2600 brings a classic back to life, working alongside revered synth engineer Rob Keeble to stay true to the original sound.

Whilst staying true to the original design, the Behringer 2600 utilises modern technology to bring the synth into the modern era. This was done by balancing the original circuit designs with newer module versions to give the synth a modern sound that echoes the original’s sonic characteristics.

The Behringer 2600 employs two filter types, with the classic ladder filter from the earlier versions, and a more resonant and aggressive filter found in later synth designs. It features three VCOs, as well as an envelope follower and ring modulator. It also boasts a versatile VCA section, an integrated voltage processor, and a sample & hold section for unprecedented sound design capabilities.

A classic synthesizer re-imagined for the modern era. Basing its design on one of the most iconic synths ever created, this 2600-style synthesizer embodies everything that made the original so revered in the music world. The original synth was a keystone in popular music in the 70s and 80s.

The semi-modular design, combined with premium-grade analog circuitry, results in rich and powerful tonality, perfect for sound designers. The original synth was adopted by some of the most legendary artists in the world, including Herbie Hancock, Pete Townshend, and Edgar Winter.

Utilising the same matched transistors and JFETs from the original synth, Behringer has meticulously recreated the original circuitry to deliver the same varied tonal palette that the original 2600 provided. Breathing life back into a classic, the Behringer 2600 is a must-have for synth lovers, sound designers, and music producers.

Powerful, deep, and rich sounds. At the heart of the 2600 are three VCOs, complete with FM inputs, with semi-modular architecture to deliver a diverse range of tones. You can even change the default waves to square, triangle, saw, sine, or pulse waveforms. Need some extra power? You can easily switch any of the VCOs to a low-frequency oscillator, perfect for creating bass-driven sounds.

The multi-mode VCF acts as a mixer for your VCOs, allowing you to blend between oscillators for unique results. The Behringer 2600 features an expansive range of modules and effects, which can be used to shape, sculpt, and even mangle sounds. From ring modulation to envelope following, noise generation, and even a digital spring reverb, the possibilities are endless. Not only that, with 83 patch points in total, you can achieve virtually any sound you can dream up.

Two envelope generators. The 2600 features both AD and ADSR envelope generators for maximum versatility. One of which offers variable attack and release, whilst the second offers full ADSR control. These envelopes can be retriggered at any time using the manual start button. The envelope section also provides both gate and trigger outputs, ideal for patching into external modular systems.

Intuitive design with versatile connectivity. Staying true to the original, the 2600 features clearly labelled sections with handy lines that show the routings and control paths. All in all, the Behringer 2600 features 73 buttons and faders, putting you in the driver’s seat when it comes to sound design. The robust and eye-catching design is housed with a rugged 8U chassis that can be rack-mounted for more permanent installations.

Reviews. “I love how Behringer have taken a classic synth and rather than releasing a carbon copy of the original synth, they’ve recreated and improved on limitations that the original synth had.” – Gear4music.
