The SSL Fusion Violet EQ plug-in is a distinctive analog modelling two-band minimum phase-shift shelving EQ based on the critically acclaimed Fusion Stereo Analog Colour processor. The design of the Violet EQ plug-in is based on the SSL legacy of carefully selected frequencies and response curves to create a musical and intuitive EQ. Develop exceptionally musical mixes with carefully selected frequency points and response curves that perfectly balance tone and control. Whether you are adding high-end clarity to your masters or sculpting the perfect bass line for your mix the intuitive controls and exceptional sound quality of the Violet EQ will enhance your tracks. Built on the SSL Plug-in Engine the Violet EQ goes above and beyond what can be found on Fusion hardware. Namely the FAT processor has been added giving you the ability to enhance Violet EQs low-frequency control. With the high-pass filter engaged FAT adds a subtle peak at the filters cut-off point bringing low-end punch back into the signal. Interface controls A streamlined interface offers intuitive control that gets you the results you need fast. Input and output metering from -60 to 0dBFS demonstrates a clear indication of peaks so you can carefully monitor your tracks as you EQ them for the perfect sound. The high-pass filter removes sub-frequency content using a 3rd order/18dB per octave slope filter. FAT adds subtle thickness to the low end. Attenuate or boost -9 to +9dB of gain in both the low band and the high band the low band offers choices of 30 50 70 or 90 Hz whereas the high band offers choices of 8 1216 and 20 kHz. Full mix content A particularly common practice in music production is to mix into an EQ that boosts the top and bottom end a bit. The SSL Violet EQ plug-in is designed specifically for that purpose. For example in the low band mixes can benefit from a modest boost at 30 50 or 70Hz to add weight. Similarly in the high band 8 and 12kHz are good places to start to achieve tasteful levels of high-end. FAT Control By increasing the high-pass filter Q factor the FAT control introduces a subtle resonance at the cut-off frequency. The FAT control adds subtle warmth and thickness to the low end when the high-pass filter is switched on.
