The Shure QLXD Handheld Wireless Microphone is a cutting-edge system that incorporates advanced technology for unmatched signal stability. It is designed to excel in even the most challenging environments. With a range of powerful features, the QLX-D system makes your job easier. The Automatic Channel Scan function quickly identifies clear frequencies for your system with just the press of a button. Intelligent Predictive Switching eliminates dropouts, ensuring uninterrupted performance. Running multiple systems is effortless, allowing you to choose the QLXD handheld transmitter and microphone that best suits your vocals. Additionally, an optional rack case enables you to perform anywhere.
The QLXD system offers seamless integration of multiple systems, making it the perfect choice for large events. The innovative Network Scan feature simplifies the setup process by allowing a single receiver to scan and assign open frequencies to all connected receivers via Ethernet. This means you can coordinate the frequencies of up to 60 channels in just a few seconds. This feature is particularly valuable in high-profile productions where the RF environment can change due to TV equipment or security personnel. By initiating a network scan, your system will automatically adapt to the new RF environment.
With the Shureplus Channels App, you can remotely monitor and control your entire networked system from anywhere. This app allows you to access a range of intelligent features from your iPad or iPhone. You can view the battery level, RF status, audio level, and more for each channel. Real-time gain adjustments can also be made, providing convenience and flexibility during performances. This eliminates the need to be constantly near the receivers throughout the entire performance.
For enhanced security, the QLXD system features AES-256 Encryption, which establishes a private one-to-one relationship between the transmitter and receiver. This ensures confidential wireless transmissions, making it ideal for sharing sensitive information during presentations. AES-256 encryption is the highest standard available and has been approved by top cryptographers worldwide.
The QLX-D transmitter provides up to 9 hours of continuous use with the included AA batteries. Alternatively, you can take advantage of Shure’s rechargeable technology with the optional SB900 lithium ion battery, which offers up to 10 hours of runtime. The transmitter displays the remaining battery life in hours and minutes. Shure provides various charging options, including an eight-bay charger, a single-battery USB charger, and a dual docking station. The docking station allows for transmitter charging without removing the battery, thanks to the external charging contacts. It only takes 3 hours to reach full capacity, and in emergencies, a 15-minute quick-charge provides an hour of use.
Constructed with robust yet lightweight aluminum, the QLX-D transmitters and receivers are built to withstand the demanding nature of professional touring. This material ensures that the high-caliber components are protected from wear and tear. The system also includes a rackmount kit for safe transportation and integration into existing rigs.
Setting up the QLX-D system is quick and easy. Just press the “menu” button and then “enter” on the receiver to perform an Automatic Channel Scan. Within seconds, the group and channel will appear on the display. To pair the transmitter, simply press the sync button while aligning the transmitter’s IR window with the receiver display. Once a solid connection is established, the receiver will display “good.” There’s no need for trial and error; one press is all it takes. With these simple steps, you’re ready to perform with the QLX-D Wireless system.
The QLXD4 receiver weighs 777 g without antennas and has dimensions of 41 × 197 × 151 mm (H × W × D). It requires 12 V DC power supplied by an external power supply. The RF input has a spurious rejection of over 80 dB and uses a BNC connector with an impedance of over 50 Ω. The audio output has a gain adjustment range of -18 to +42 dB in 1 dB steps and can be configured with a 1/4″ (6.35 mm) or XLR connector with a balanced impedance of 50 Ω. The full-scale output is +12 dBV for the 1/4″ connector and +18 dBV for the XLR connector (in LINE setting), and -12 dBV for the XLR connector (in MIC setting). The device also features a 30 dB pad for the Mic/Line switch and phantom power protection for both the 1/4″ and XLR connectors.
The QLXD2 handheld transmitter is powered by a Shure SB900A rechargeable Li-Ion battery or AA batteries. The battery runtime is up to 10 hours with the Shure SB900A battery and up to 9 hours with AA batteries. The dimensions of the transmitter are 256 mm × 51 mm (10.1 in. × 2.0 in.) (L × Dia.), and it weighs 347 g (12.2 oz.) without batteries. The transmitter has an integrated single-band helical antenna and uses Shure’s proprietary digital modulation type. The power output can be set at either 1 mW or 10 mW.
