The Roland JD-Xi Synth is the ultimate analog/digital synthesizer that combines the best of both worlds. It features 37 velocity-sensitive mini keys, a four-track pattern sequencer, legendary supernatural synth tones, 128-voice polyphony, and a gooseneck microphone for impressive vocal effects. Whether you’re performing live or in the studio, the JD-Xi Synth is packed with features that make it the only synth you’ll need to create impressive and expressive tracks.
Analog / digital hybrid synthesizer Incorporating an innovative and powerful analog/digital crossover sound engine, the JD-Xi delivers a versatile and expressive synth in one stylish and robust unit. It produces the warm and authentic tone of a traditional analog synth combined with the clarity and adaptability of a modern digital synth, making it perfect for a range of music genres and playing styles. With saw, triangle, and square waveforms, pulse modulation, analog filtering, and an independent sub oscillator for optimized low response, the JD-Xi offers a huge variety of tones. The two digital synth sections provide 128-voice polyphony and a wide range of high-quality SuperNATURAL synth tones.
Gooseneck microphone for vocal effects The built-in gooseneck microphone allows you to produce a variety of vocoder, autopitch, and other vocal effects to add a unique flavor to your performance. Simply sing into the gooseneck microphone and use the keyboard to control the pitch and sounds created. You can even “sing” synth sounds without interacting with the keyboard.
Loops and pattern sequencer The JD-Xi features a built-in pattern sequencer with four separate tracks for digital synths, analog synths, or drum patterns, allowing for full and intricate loop creation. Real-time and step recording modes provide unique programming options, while the TR-REC mode offers the traditional Roland TR-Series beatboxes. The JD-Xi also comes preloaded with many preset patterns for jamming right out of the box.
Professional sounding drum kits With a wide variety of professional captured and edited drum samples, the JD-Xi can create premium quality rhythm patterns with full and realistic sounding drums. It offers both electronic and acoustic drum kits, clearly labeled and selectable through the built-in screen. Each drum kit can be customized and edited to create hybrid kits by adjusting the filter envelope, pitch, and pan parameters for each individual drum sound.
Sound modulation and high-grade effects The JD-Xi incorporates four powerful effects sections, allowing you to add a range of effects to your sounds and create unique and professional tones. Effect 1 and 2 offer parameters such as Bit Crusher, Slicer, and Ring Modulation. The JD-Xi also features independent Delay and Reverb controls for creating spacious ambient tones. Each effects section can be turned on/off separately for the three synth sections and drums, allowing for creative combinations.

JD-Xi red and white collection sounds To celebrate the launch of the JD-Xi synth in limited-edition red or white, Roland has introduced two new sound collections: the Red Collection and the White Collection. The Red Collection is more energetic and aggressive, developed for tempos above 120bpm, while the White Collection is for more relaxed productions under 120bpm. Both collections contain eight new programs suitable for a variety of electronic music styles, taking full advantage of the JD-Xi’s analog/digital crossover sound engine and powerful DSP section.
