The hybrid shell construction, with a blend of maple and walnut, produces a warm and slightly darker voice. The Evolution rack toms have their own orbital rings, thanks to the Halo mounting system. Each shell is able to resonate freely, resulting in the purest tones. The drums are constructed using Mapex’s Chamber Specific Shell Construction, with varying depths and bearing edges. This ensures that each drum is optimized for its specific size.
The combination of maple and walnut in the drum shells creates a dynamic blend of tones. Maple provides tonal versatility and warmth, while walnut adds fast attack and dark tones. The SONIClear bearing edge technology improves contact between the drum head and shell, enhancing resonance and making tuning easier. The floor toms feature TH800 SONIClear tom holders and Sonic Pedestal feet, which enhance tonal resonance and prevent vibration transfer.
